2024 SSAA (Tasmania) Precision Rifle State Titles
Centrefire
What is precision rifle?
Precision Rifle (PR) combines the three principles of precision, stability and speed to score as many points as possible during a given amount of time. The course of fire is made up of a number of stages that are shot individually by the shooter. The shooter will often move and shoot from several positions, fire under or over obstacles or in other unfamiliar situations. There are no standard courses of fire or set target arrangement. Courses are designed to test the shooter's inventiveness and solutions frequently differ between shooters. The above points apply equally to both PR centrefire and rimfire.
Open Division
There are no price restrictions imposed on Open Division rifles. These may be customised within the limits of Tasmanian firearms legislation.
Open Division rifles will not exceed a calibre of .30 or a velocity of 3,200 fps.
